Hi! I’m so glad you stopped by. I’m Cheryl. Thanks for joining this online journey as I share about homeschooling, food allergies, natural health, and love of social media — all infused with a dose of faith.
I’m a wife, mother and daughter of the King. I’m passionate about this life I live, though I live it imperfectly. The Titus 2 and Proverbs 31 woman? I’m not her. But I strive to be! I’m thankful for my God who gives lots of grace, and for a family with a great sense of humor. They laugh with me (sometimes at me) when I fall short of the ideal wife and mom. My husband, Shane, and I have been married since 1999. We were teenage parents and I love to share how God redeemed that time in our lives.
We’ve been homeschooling since 2001 when our eldest entered Kindergarten. We’ve launched 3 children, and are currently raising 3 more amazing kids – and by amazing, I don’t mean perfect! We believe they are each wonderfully made and given a unique spirit by the hand of the Father. It’s our job and privilege to help them discover their bend. Homeschooling has become a way of life for us. We love the flexibility and customization it affords us as a whole.
I’m allergic to dairy. Though I didn’t discover that about myself until I was almost 30!! After many years of sickness, pain, doctor and ER visits, I suddenly discovered dairy was the cause of my trouble. After going on an elimination diet I felt like a new woman, and I haven’t looked back. It’s not always easy to be dairy free, I know, but the sacrifice is worth the rewards.
Since then, I’ve also cut gluten from my diet. It made me (and my gut) feel bloated and sluggish.
And, I have Alpha-Gal. A tick-borne allergy that causes me to be allergic to mammal meat. That’s right, no beef, pork, venison, goat, bison…you get the idea. Just fowl, fish and seafood for me.
I love to share my favorite advice, allergy friendly products and personal recipes to help my allergic readers.
Health is important to me. I’m on a journey to reach my optimum health – and that’s not a set number on a scale. I like to share my successes and failures as I strive to eat healthy and exercise. I am also an avid proponent of natural health and crunchy topics. You’ll hear about how I lost 42lbs, like to use essential oils and eat whole foods, as well as support breast feeding and cloth diapering.
I thoroughly enjoy social media and its varied outlets. I love to read and share about this interest…so much so that I started my own social media conference! The Titus 2:1 Conference (or 2:1 -pronounced 2 to 1 for short) is THE conference for Christian bloggers who homeschool their children. We’ll be in Sandusky, Ohio on October 7-9, 2016, come and join us!
