Today’s post is from my friend and savvy work-at-home mom, Alyssa of Life From My Laptop. On her site, Alyssa offers fantastic work-at-home, parenting and budgeting tips, as well as easy frugal recipes. Her homemade pizza ideas are very popular and she is kind enough to share one with us today – Chicken Bacon Alfredo Pizza! Doesn’t that sound delicious? I know my Pitt Crew would love it. And I could easily make a dairy free version for myself by substituting barbecue sauce for the alfredo. Wipe the drool off your chin and enjoy!
Money saving meals are something every family it seems like is looking for and desires to put on their list of possible recipes. One of my family’s favorite meals is pizza and a great way to save money on pizza is to make them yourself. This is why my family and I have an abundance of various homemade pizza ideas that we have on hand for go to meals at our house. This recipe is one of them and it is definitely at the top of our list.
One of the reasons it is so popular with my family is that it is different from your traditional pizza. It doesn’t use traditional marinara type sauce with tomatoes instead it uses an alfredo based sauce, which I love and think you will too. Also, bacon is the most popular topping for my family, which is another winner for this pizza.
So, here’s your list of ingredients:
4 chicken breasts cooked and either shredded or cubed
1 package of real bacon bits (a time saver, you can use real bacon if you prefer)
1 small jar of alfredo sauce
2 packages of pizza crust (I use a mixable crust that you just add water.)
4 cups mozzarella cheese
Prepare the pizza crust per package directions. Spread about 1/2 jar of the alfredo sauce on each pizza. Sprinkle equal portions of chicken and bacon on next. Finally, add 2 cups of mozzarella cheese per pizza. Cook at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until crust is brown and cheese is bubbly.
Thanks for sharing Alyssa!
